YEP Serving Those That Serve


Welcome to the Hayward Unified School District’s Youth Enrichment Program (YEP!). This program is sponsored by the After School Learning and Safe Neighborhoods Partnerships Program (ASLSNPP) and the 21st Century Community School. We are very excited to have your child as a part of the program this school year.  It is our hope that this will be a very positive and enjoyable experience for you and your child.

The Youth Enrichment Program is a collaborative effort between the Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) and The City of Hayward. The Hayward Public Agency Liaison Committee originated the initial concept for the program in January 1996.

There are 29 sites currently serving elementary, middle and high school students in the district.  Last school year the programs served over 3,400 students from K thru 12th grade. The students participate in educational and literacy programs as well as enrichment and recreational programs.

Mission Statement & Philosophy

The mission of the YEP is to use the resources, energy and talents of the entire Hayward community to provide enrichment activities for our youth and to create a safe environment for children to interact and learn.

Serving students is at the heart of the YEP mission and philosophy.  As resources allow, the YEP will serve as many students as possible. The YEP continually strives to improve services for all our children through staff training, program development and the implementation of proven teaching materials and methods.  The program is evaluated each year to ensure we meet our goals and objectives.  Our programs are doing well when all participants realize academic success, social growth, and personal satisfaction in an environment that is safe, secure, and supportive.

2014 Spring Intersession

On-line registration for Spring will open Wednesday March 5th 2014 beginning at 3:00 pm

If you are already enrolled in YEP, you do not need to re-enroll - youONLY need to MODIFY your registration.  Please log into your students profile, and ADD TO AGENDA the program you are interested in.   

Flyers, and instructions can be found in YEP, on our Web Page, or by clicking the link below.  Please remember, registration can only be done on-line, the program will be held at Park Elementary School, and YEP does not accept cash for the program.  Payments can be made on-line or at the District Office - we accept cashier’s checks, personal checks, debit and credit cards.

Payments in person will need to be made by April 7th for week one and April 14th for week two, in order to secure your place in the program

We are a first come, first served program, and a wait list will be generated if the program reaches capacity.

All families interested in participating in YEP will need to ENROLL online.  Families with more than one child participating in YEP will qualify for a family discount, provided they are enrolled together.  There is no way to determine if siblings are from the same family if they are enrolled separately.  Each family should have only one (1) Confirmation Number for their whole family. This Confirmation Number is valid for the entire school year.


The REGISTRATION FEE is due at time of  REGISTRATION.  ALL families regardless of need, pay the same one-time REGISTRATION FEE.  The REGISTRATION FEE is $180.00.

**Intersessions carry their own fees and are also due at time of registration.


Some families are eligible for discounts, please contact the SPSP/YEP office to see if you qualify or to request payment arrangements.


***NOTE:  If you do not see a FEE you are NOT registered for any sessions or you are on a WAIT LIST.  Make sure you have signed up for a program.



PHASE I – ENROLLMENT into the YEP Program – Any / every family that wishes to participate in YEP MUST start with PHASE I.  

  • Instructions for each page are located at the top of each page. 
  • Once you have entered in all information (including all family members), you must click FINISH in order to SAVE your information.  
  • Once your information is saved, will receive a Confirmation Number
    • You will need your Confirmation Number for PHASE II (ADD or REMOVE items from your AGENDA such as Wait Lists or Intersessions)

Instructions for PHASE I

  1. Click the PHASE I link on the page (located at the top of the page in the right hand corner, or at the bottom of the page also in the right hand corner)
  2. Enter your Student's First NameStudent's Last NameParent Email Address, Confirm Parent Email Address and Select Registration Type (1 – Elementary School / 2 – Middle School / 3 – High School)
  3. Click Next
  4. Fill out all information on the page.  Required fields appear with an asterisk * and is in RED
  5. Click Save and Next
  6. Select your Student’s HOME SCHOOL
  7. Click Next
  8. Select grade appropriate program – Click Add to Agenda, or Add to Waitlist
  9. Click Next
  10. If you have another Student click the Add Another Student button; if/when you are done entering Students, Click Next
  11. You will now see a Summary Page of the information you entered.  If everything is correct, click Next
  12. This will take you to a payment page
  13. If you are paying by check or money order, click Offline Payments and click Finish
  14. If you are paying by Credit or Debit Card, click Online Payments
  15. Enter your Credit Card information, and click Finish
  16. It is IMPORTANT to Click FINISH – this is what SAVES your information in the system.  If you do not click Finish, you may not be in the program


PHASE II – REGISTRATION into Sessions (AM or PM Program) or Intersessions  –  Can be MODIFIED when available.  

If your student has changed Home Schools, or you want to add an Intersession or remove from a Wait List - you can access your information at any time.     

  • Instructions for each page are located at the top of each page. 
  • You MUST have a Confirmation Number in order to MODIFY your REGISTRATION.  
  • If you have completed PHASE I, click the link below to access PHASE II




Instructions for PHASE II

  1. Click the REGISTRATION/MODIFY link on the page DO NOT ENROLL your student again, if you have received a Confirmation Number (Phase I)
  2. If you do not have your Confirmation Number - you can have it emailed to you (Click the link on the page)
  3. Enter your Student's First NameStudent's Last NameParent Email Address, and Confirmation Number
  4. Click OK
  5. You will see a Welcome to YEP! page.  ABOVE the Welcome, you will see GRAY Buttons - MODIFY, Submit Payment, More Options, and Print Options - Click the one that says MODIFY
  6. You will see your students' name/s listed - to the far right, click on REGISTRATION 
  7. Confirm your students'  HOME SCHOOLclick NEXT
  8. You will then have the option available to add your student to Sessions, click ADD TO AGENDA, or ADD TO WAIT LIST
  9. When you are done selecting, click NEXT
  10. When you have entered in information for all your students, click NEXT
  11. You will see a confirmation page of your students' information, if all if correct, click NEXT
  12. Click NEXT until you get to the SUBMIT PAYMENT page
  13. Select your method of payment - ONLINE (pay now),OFFLINE (pay by check or money order), NO PAYMENT(pay later)
  14. Click FINISH - It is important that you click FINISH, or your information will not be saved
