Message from Superintendent & CEO

July 5, 2013

On behalf of the Dobbs family, I want to thank the Governing Board for responding positively to the voice of the Hayward community and giving me the opportunity to add value to the development of a positive future for the Hayward Unified School District.  We have some difficult work ahead and I look forward to experiencing the benefits to the children first hand.  Nationwide, public education is in a state of emergency and the Hayward community must be ready to respond on behalf of the children.  Through the execution of the Board’s vision, it is my goal to ensure that all children in Hayward are ready for the workforce challenges of the 21st century.  Hayward children will be career and/or college ready.

HUSD has highly qualified teachers & staff and caring parents that can and will continue on a daily basis to put the interest of children first.  As a full community effort, which will include all key stakeholders, we will plan, achieve and sustain student academic growth, promote student safety and support our children in every step of this journey.  This will be challenging work, but fully necessary to achieve the success for our children.

As promised, I have been at my post since July 1st and work is getting done. As part of my first day activities, I visited Mt Eden High School to observe students attending the 9th Grade Rising Academy.  These students were being prepared for both the academic rigor and socio-emotional aspects of attending high school. This program will ensure that our 9th graders will have a great start to an amazing high school experience.

I look forward to having you on the path of this amazing journey with me for our children.  As we travel, let’s keep Hayward children first - for they are the true Hearts of the Bay!

Sincerely,

Stan “Data” Dobbs

Message from Interim Superintendent & Chief Executive Officer

Atentamente,

Stan “Data” Dobbs
