Superintendent Shout Outs

Hayward Unified Superintendent & CEO, Stan "Data" Dobbs was interviewed by KCBS Radio's Melissa Culross about Education and Hayward. Listen Here!

Message from Superintendent & CEO

On behalf of the Hayward Unified School District and the 22,000 of students we serve, thank you!  Last night, your votes resoundingly passed Measure L by a margin of 76.82%.  We thank you for listening and understanding that this initiative was absolutely imperative to upgrade and modernize our facilities, improve student safety, and ensure equal access to quality instruction for all.

Measure L, like Measure I, is an investment in the future and will benefit current and future students for years to come. The District developed a strategy to strategically upgrade and modernize our facilities, with a series of municipal bonds. Our schools are not only locations where our students learn and employees work, but they also serve as pinnacle partners in our neighborhoods. Thanks to your support, we will improve safety and security in our schools by upgrading lighting and fencing and implementing state-of-the-art fire prevention and emergency communications systems. Because of you, we'll modernize our classrooms, facilities, and instructional equipment and upgrade our computer and science labs to ensure our students can better compete in today's globally competitive job market. Your votes have ensured we'll repair and replace dilapidated roofs, floors, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure our kids have a modern, safe place to learn and grow.  Measure L is used solely for school technology, facilities, and equipment. No administrator salaries will be paid from its proceeds.  As experienced with Measure I, the community can be confident that mandatory audits and independent citizen oversight committees will ensure that these funds are properly spent for the benefit of Hayward's children.

Thank you for your support of this measure, for your enthusiasm in our children, and for believing in the Hayward Unified School District.  It's because of you -- the people of Hayward -- that we will now be able to undertake the critical infrastructure improvements that will propel our district into the 21st Century.
